The Summer School in Kilkee, County Clare
This summer school is centered in the village of Kilkee, on the west coast of Ireland. It’s between the two major cities of Limerick and Galway. The village of Kilkee faces on to the Atlantic ocean and has a spectacular beaches and full range of water sports can enjoyed there (surfing, water skiing, diving). The area around the village has also horse riding centres and two championship level golf courses. For those who would like to we can propose a three week course of intensive Irish dancing lessons. They will get a certificate of progress from the Irish Dancing Council. We can offer here a full three week multi-activity program combined with preparation for and taking final test certified by Trinity College London. We can also provide here short one or two week management training programs. The children and students taking part in this will have the opportunity to associate with their peers from all other countries in Europe.
Brief description
The summer camp will run from the 14th of July to the 4th of August (departing from Moscow on the 14th of July and returning on the 5th of August).
English classes will be held from Monday to Friday 09:30 – 13:00. Group size is on average of 10 students (maximum 12) in the class for junior and 6 to 8 for senior students. Final testing and certification will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of August.
All participants will be housed with host families with a maximum of 2 students to each family. There will be an option for a hotel or guest house (B&B) accommodation. Host families will provide breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch. Irish meals are quite large. Juniors will also have snuck breaks during morning classes.
There will be a full afternoon social program from Monday to Friday with a lot of activities ranging from swimming in indoor pools, horse riding and pony tracking, guided walking tours, visits to local places of interest, trips to famous Cliffs of Kilkee and the Burren. Subject to weather conditions and ability there will be one half day per week for a boat trip with children being introduced in wonderful pastime of sea fishing with the opportunity to eat their catch. At the weekend there will be one full day excursion to rather go to Galway or Limerick with shopping and guide tours around the city. The 3rd week ends with the trip to Aran Islands, one of the greatest and most mysterious tourism attractions in Europe. As an optional extra we would consider organizing a full day tour to Dingle and the Skelling Islands (the Unesco Heritage sight).
